Welcome to May! Let’s brighten up lockdown with Botanical Beauty wedding inspiration—an enchanted big-day aesthetic infused with leafy forest touches and rich jewel tones. This stunning styled shoot was even featured in print in the Spring 2020 issue of Wedding Ideas, one of the UK’s leading bridal magazines!
It Started With A Swan…
A simple swan vase found in a bric-a-brac shop sparked the vision for this shoot. I imagined it transformed and sprayed antique gold, taking centre stage on a wedding table. Swans symbolise monogamy and loyalty, gracing fairy tales with their elegant presence. When I visited the venue and spotted a regal gold pheasant perched on a sideboard in the conservatory, I knew it was the perfect setting. Its light, airy space complemented our woodland-inspired theme, with feature print wallpaper that brought the outside in. The scene was set!
The mood for this botanical wedding inspiration was shaped by deep jewel hues. Velvet fabric draped across the tablescape and lined the Groom’s tuxedo jacket—its bird-pattern lining adding a playful nod to our theme. The tiered bridal gown from Australian designer Bronx & Banco introduced romance and vintage charm, elegantly paired with rich velvet Ted Baker heels.
Our Enchanted Delights
To complete the scene, designer baker Francis Quinn crafted a detailed woodland-themed cake, adorned with her signature marzipan bees. Meanwhile, Oathill’s mixologist created pure magic with the ‘Apothecary’s Garden’ cocktail, served in vintage teacups and accompanied by woodland berries that altered the taste when sampled together!
A Jewel Toned Table with Botanical Florals
We selected a lush combination of delphinium, roses, carnations, and clematis, blended with grey-green eucalyptus to complement the emerald velvet fabric on the table. Cut figs, gold accents, and mercury-glass tea lights added a luxurious, banquet-like atmosphere.
The talented Millie Stone UK designed bespoke stationery for the shoot, including vellum menus, name cards adorned with velvet ribbon, and ink-washed invitations—each element enhancing the ethereal aesthetic.
Our models, real couple Rachel and Ashley, are set to marry in a destination wedding in Greece later this year—a beautiful, serendipitous link between our UK shoot and their upcoming celebration abroad. The session gifted them a stunning set of pre-wedding images to weave into their wedding story.
